The second phase of the Awanosato park opened in early 1998, centering around the addition of a large two-story wooden, moved from Annan City (south of Tokushima City) to be used as a restaurant and event space. In addition, an old farm house was disassembled and moved to the site where it is used as an indigo workshop. The grounds were developed for strolling and outdoor theatre and a new entry was completed using more hand-hewn granite from Qingdao, China. Several courtyard gardens were developed around the main hall to be viewed while enjoying a meal.
